ROADTRIP (the app and roadtripgo.app) is run by PYON LTD, 1 Knightsbridge Green, London SW1X 7QA, United Kingdom, the data controller. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it and the choices you have. Contact: support.roadtripgo@pyon.uk.
What we collect
Account: your email address and sign-in details (or the identifier Apple or Google gives us if you sign in with them). Passwords are stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider.
Trips: the start, destinations, dates, road preferences, chosen roads, hotels you select and other trip settings you enter, plus any road reports you submit.
Location: only when you allow it, your device location is used to set a starting point and to show where you are on the map. We do not track your location in the background.
Subscription: if you subscribe, Apple or Google tells us the product, transaction and renewal status. We never receive your card or payment details.
Technical: basic logs (such as IP address, device and browser type, error reports) needed to run and secure the service. Some settings, such as language and map style, are stored only on your device.
Why we use it
To provide the service you ask for (contract): create your account, plan and save trips, calculate routes, show weather and places along the way, and verify your subscription.
To keep the service working and secure (legitimate interests): prevent abuse, fix errors and improve route quality.
We do not sell your personal data, do not use it for advertising and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who processes it for us
Supabase (database, authentication and hosting through Lovable Cloud) stores your account and trips.
GraphHopper (routing and place search) and Google Maps Platform (places and hotels) receive the coordinates or place names needed to answer a trip request, not your name or email.
Open-Meteo (weather) receives the coordinates of places on your route. OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap serve map tiles and map data to your device.
Apple and Google handle purchases, Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google under their own privacy policies.
Some of these providers are outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
Account and trip data are kept until you delete a trip or your account. Deleting your account (Profile → Delete my account) removes your sign-in, profile, trips and related records.
Records of store transactions are kept without your account attached, because Apple or Google can send refunds or changes after deletion and we must keep accounting records.
Server logs are kept for a short period for security and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent (for example, location permission in your device settings). Email support.roadtripgo@pyon.uk; we reply within one month.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
Children
ROADTRIP is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this page when our data use changes and show the new date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
